ART AND PROTEST PAPER

For this assignment, you will write a two-page paper. In the paper, I’d like you to address a specific social, political, economical, ecological, religious, small-scale, or large-scale issue that you feel strongly about. Give me some facts about your issue that you have researched. Be sure to include citations. Tell me your opinion on this issue.

Imagine you are an artist of some kind. You have any skill you could imagine for this project. Explain what kind of artwork you might make to display your views or to protest this issue. Answer these questions regarding your display:

-Who is your audience?

-Who are you trying to convince of what?

-What do you hope to achieve by displaying this work?

-What specific imagery, actions (if it’s a performance), or text would you include in your work?

-Where would you display it and how? How would it be made?

-How would you decide if it was “successful” or not?
